Getting started

Is Bowbook really free?

Yes. Weekly planning, journal, equipment tracking, and cloud sync stay free with two weeks of training history. Pro adds analytics, unlimited history, templates, goals, scoring workflows, and export. Every athlete account also gets a one-time 14-day Pro trial without entering a card. Coaches are a separate product — see pricing.

Do I need a coach to use Bowbook?

No. Many archers use Bowbook solo for structure and logging. Coach features are optional when you want shared visibility or formal review requests.

Web vs mobile?

The web app is fully supported today. Mobile (Expo) shares the same account and sync; we are actively improving parity. Sign in once on either platform.

Coaches & athletes

How does coach linking work?

Athletes invite a coach from the app. The coach sees a pending request in the coach portal and can accept or decline. Only active links unlock shared data and review requests.

What can my coach see?

With an active link, coaches get read-only access to your weekly plan, dashboard snapshot, analysis summary, scoring session history, and week-specific comments they (or you) attach. They do not edit your plan on your behalf unless you share account access outside Bowbook.

What is a coach review request?

Athletes describe what they want reviewed (form, timing, equipment change) and can paste an optional video link (Google Drive, YouTube, etc.). Requests land in the coach review inbox with context from a week or scoring session. Coaches reply with written feedback in the app.

Does Bowbook host lesson videos?

Not in v1. We focus on training data and optional links to video you already store. That keeps Bowbook complementary to Teachable, Vimeo, or club libraries.

What is the difference between Coach and Coach Pro?

Both are verified coach products: you get full Pro for your own account plus the coach portal. With Coach, athletes can link to you but their features follow their own Free or Pro plan. Coach Pro adds sponsored Pro seats — each seated athlete gets full Pro while actively linked to you. Email invites and seat management require Coach Pro.

How do I become a verified coach?

Apply from the app (Coach portal). Bowbook reviews applications and assigns either Coach or Coach Pro after approval. Self-serve “I am a coach” toggles are not used — verification keeps the directory trustworthy.

How much does Pro cost?

See live pricing on the home page (typically monthly and annual options via Stripe). Prices are shown before checkout in the app.

How do I cancel?

Open the app → Account → Manage billing (Stripe customer portal). Access continues until the end of the current period. For accidental charges, contact support@bowbook.app within 14 days.

What happens when my Pro trial ends?

You return to the free plan automatically. Your data remains; premium-only views respect free history limits. You can subscribe anytime to restore Pro features.

Privacy & security

Where is my data stored?

Application data lives in Supabase (PostgreSQL). Payments are handled by Stripe; we do not store card numbers. See Security & trust and our Privacy Policy.

Do you sell my data?

No. We use your information to run the service, billing, and support — not for ad targeting or resale.
